Why Christians Should Cast Their Votes for Donald J. Trump This November- Part II

In the second and final part of the two-part blog post on why Christians should vote for Trump, we’ll focus in on who Donald Trump and who Kamala Harris actually are — and why Christians should be very concerned about the latter.

The Democrats have made it pretty clear: they despise Christians.

As I pointed out in the first part of this blog post (which you can read right here), the evangelical voting bloc is a force with which to be reckoned and can easily sway elections. Yet oddly enough, in spite of this fact, Democrats feel comfortable enough to take potshots at Christians. In 2008, Obama referred to midwestern voters as “bitter” and “cling[ing] to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations” (emphasis added). Even recently at a Kamala Harris rally, as Harris griped about the overturning of Roe v. Wade to her supporters, a couple people in the crowd shouted, “Jesus is Lord!” Harris paused her speech to heckle back at the rally-goers, “Oh, you guys are at the wrong rally.” (In fairness, she’s not incorrect; if you believe that Jesus is Lord and you’re attending a Kamala Harris rally, you need to re-evaluate your belief system. But that’s another topic for a potentially-upcoming article.) While being met with thunderous applause for her retort, she added, “No, I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street,” referring to Trump’s rally. The crowd continued to applaud as she began her fingernails-on-a-chalkboard-sounding cackle.

Even more bewildering is how many Christians choose to overlook this. Not all (as statistics obviously show), but enough to cause concern, have been willingly overtaken with the same cancer that most of the left-wing has fallen prey to: Trump Derangement Syndrome. Anything Trump does, just because they don’t like the man’s personality or character, must be evil or sinful or repulsive to a Christian. Their obsessive dislike for the orange man drives them into the hands of the Democrat Party, which gladly accepts them. An indicator of this occurrence is the common refrain that you’ll hear from evangelicals such as Beth Moore and the like: “he’s a bully,” or “he’s mean.” In saying this, they show their political ignorance because, as many well know, that “meanness” is crucial when dealing with countries like China on trade or Russia on staying out of a bloody war (which Trump was able to achieve during his entire warless 4-year term). They forget what I pointed out in the previous blog post: they’re not voting for a pastor to lead their church or a teacher to lead Sunday school or a nanny to babysit their kids. They’re voting for a politician who is being elected to manage the country, not disciple Christians. Of course a hardcore Christian president would be ideal; however, generally speaking, no country on Earth ever has that luxury. You play the cards you’ve been dealt, and common sense tells us that if you can’t vote for the hardcore Christian (because he doesn’t exist), vote for the person who embodies your belief system the most (and who has the most realistic chance of winning to avoid you wasting your vote). In this case, that’s Donald Trump.

This pattern of evangelicals shunning the idea of voting for Trump (oftentimes rooted in either sanctimony or ignorance) is especially mystifying when both the Trump-Pence administration and the future Trump-Vance administration were and would be two of the most pro-Christian administrations in American history. Putting aside all the pro-life achievements of Trump’s first four years (including the unforgettable overturning of Roe v. Wade, ending federal funding to Planned Parenthood, being the first president to attend the March for Life, etc.), which would likely be enough to evidence their pro-Christian stance, Trump also attempted to get rid of the Johnson Amendment, an amendment that threatened to remove churches’ tax-exempt status if they were to involve themselves in political races or with political candidates. (Unfortunately, all Trump was able to do was sign an executive order; this didn’t repeal the amendment, but it helped dissuade the IRS from being so quick to take action against churches that expressed their political views.) You may view this is more of a political strategy that would serve to benefit Trump, and that wouldn’t be incorrect, but it was also something that many pastors heavily encouraged Trump to do out of the inability for their congregation to get involved in real-world events that would indeed affect them for fear of falling victim to this law’s unjust punishment. In 2020, Trump signed an executive order that would help protect and defend religious freedoms. (He’s also vowed to continue to defend religious liberties in his next term.) Additionally, Trump repealed an Obama-era law that required employers to allocate insurance for women’s birth control, leaving no room for religious exemption. This law also affected religious non-profits, leading to a legal dispute in the federal courts when the Little Sisters of the Poor protested against this mandate. Trump’s nullification of this law was a breath of fresh air for religious charities whose consciences would not allow them to get behind Obama’s decision. On a smaller scale, Trump even pushed back against the left’s “War on Christmas” when he tweeted in December 2017, “People are proud to be saying Merry Christmas again. I am proud to have led the charge against the assault of our cherished and beautiful phrase. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!” Even recently, on October 23, Trump posted on his social media app, Truth Social, “Kamala Harris did NOTHING as 120,000 Armenian Christians were horrifically persecuted and forcibly displaced in Artsakh. Christians around the World will not be safe if Kamala Harris is President of the United States. When I am President, I will protect persecuted Christians, I will work to stop the violence and ethnic cleansing, and we will restore PEACE between Armenia and Azerbaijan.” This is in reference to Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing of Armenians living in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, which has resulted in many Armenian Christians being forced to flee to Armenia. In spite of the scale of this persecution, little attention has been brought to it on the world stage, and world leaders have done almost nothing to try to end it. Trump’s promise to restore peace between the two countries is warmly welcomed by a lot of Christians who have observed the fates of their overseas brothers and sisters.

The list goes on of all the accomplishments Trump’s former administration has done for Christians, as well as all the promises his future administration has made on the campaign trail over the last couple of years. Is Trump’s history while in office not enough to receive the trust of Christians who witnessed his track record for four years?

For some, evidently not.

They’ve become so blinded that they’re willing to allow the alternative that comes with not voting for Trump. Let’s take a closer look at who the alternative is and for what she stands.

You really don’t need to look that deeply to find evidence of how much Kamala Harris has promised to oppose Christian ideals. In an unearthed questionnaire from Harris’ failed 2020 presidential campaign, Harris publicly stated that she supports taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries…for detained immigrants…and prison inmates. (Funnily enough, this statement is by liberal network CNN’s own admission.) That same year, she confirmed that she supports adding a third gender to federal ID’s. But this was 4 years ago, you might say. However, Harris said in August that her “values have not changed” from what they were in her 2020 campaign. She even went as far as to recently say that there is “not a thing” that she would have done differently from the Biden-Harris administration (that she is still currently a part of, by the way). There is enough to fill books of all the evil things that the Biden administration has done (such as the persecution of pro-life Catholics through the FBI and his DOJ), but that’s not the point of this article. Furthermore, in a statement that should be extremely alarming to Christians, Harris said that her “first priority” would be reinstating Roe v. Wade, which would give federal allowance to people who want to murder their babies — more succinctly put, she will give people access to unrestricted, on-demand abortions across the country. She has previously stated that she doesn’t support any religious exemptions for nurses and doctors who do not want to participate in abortion procedures. This is just a short list of issues, but if you’re a Christian and you’re not yet alarmed, I’m not sure that anything will alarm you at this point.

Make no mistake about it: Kamala Harris despises everything for which Christians stand and will do all that she can to enact her far-left, anti-Christian agendas.

So, to my American brothers and sisters in Christ, you have three choices: you can abstain from voting and neglect your responsibility as believers to partake in choosing leaders to govern you with the ultimate purpose of furthering the Gospel of Christ; you can vote third-party/independent and thereby squander your vote on a candidate that has no remote chance of getting elected (making it a pseudo-vote for the left); or you can vote for the better candidate in this election. Not a perfect candidate by any means, but the better one. You don’t need to vote for Trump happily; you don’t need to declare it from the rooftops with excitement. You can even vote with your nose plugged if you want. It doesn’t matter how you vote. It only matters that you vote and that you vote for Donald Trump. Because, like him or not, the alternative is much worse, and both America and the collective body of Christ will be in great trouble if the alternative becomes reality.

As someone on 𝕏 recently posted in reference to Harris’ retort to the Christians at her rally who proclaimed Jesus as Lord, “If you believe that Jesus is Lord, Kamala wants you to vote for Trump.” This shouldn’t be a difficult decision. It’s a very binary decision: vote for the man who time and time again has shown that he will stand up for and defend Christians or vote for the woman who has proven she will attack it every chance she gets.

  1. Hello from the UK.

Many thanks for your post. I certainly think Kamala Harris would be an ongoing disaster for the USA. In any event she contains the word ‘Devil’ in her full name, Kamala Devi Harris. Trump’s full name doesn’t come up with anything like that as far as I can tell!

    Kind regards
